The difference between thought leadership and content marketing
Most executive content falls into one of two traps. Either it is vague inspiration without an actual argument, or it is company news dressed up as insight. Neither builds the kind of authority that makes buyers trust a vendor before they have ever spoken to them.
Real thought leadership takes a position on something in your category that a reasonably informed person could disagree with. It makes an argument, supports it with evidence or experience, and reaches a conclusion. That is the structure of any piece of writing that earns a reader. Anecdotes without arguments do not.
